or in emails from other organisations)
If you are content with the information that we hold, how we process it,
how we currently contact you, etc, then you do not need to do anything.
Unlike other organisations who may have contacted you recently,
due to the DGC's position as a membership organisation we do not need you to grant consent for your information to be used,
and you do not need to reply or complete any forms.
In any other instances your first action should be to notify your preferences by
writing to the Hon Sec Dorset Golf Captains at the address given above.
How the Dorset Golf Captains Organisation is complying
The purpose of the GDPR is to provide a set of standard data protection laws across the EU,
making it easier for you to understand how your data is being used and to give you greater control over its use.
The DGC undertakes to collect and use your personal data in compliance with the GDPR.
Our legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest as a membership organisation.
We use the data for the administration of your membership, the communication of information and the organisation of events.
We share your contact details with the organisers of our events and our committee and may publish them as indicated in item K below.
This Privacy Notice includes the following matters -:
• What data we collect and what we use it for
• Where we get it from and who we give it to
• What we do to ensure its security
• How you can see what data we hold about you and limit its use
• How you can ask for inaccuracies in data to be corrected
Currently the information which we hold for you may include -:
a) your name
b) home address
c) current golf club
d) current handicap
e) email address
f) home and mobile phone number
g) the club at which you were captain and the year.
We use this information-:
A) We ONLY use your home address for posting information to you.
B) We DO NOT supply this information to other members or third parties other than committee members.
C) We DO publish the address of the Hon Sec so that communications can be sent to us.
D) We DO publish your name, club and phone number on match sheets so that other players may contact you to share transport etc.
E) We DO notify your club representative of your membership and ask them to update your details from time to time.
F) We DO email and post DGC information to you such as team and event information.
G) We MAY phone, email or write to you to ascertain your views from time to time.
H) We DO publish your name in the minutes of meetings, if you attend, or have won an event which may be posted on our website.
I) We DO publish your name, club and phone number if you are a committee member on our website so that members can contact you.
J) We MAY publish on our web site photographs of members taken at our events.
K) We DO supply your name, club and handicap to other counties ONLY for the purposes of compiling team sheets for inter county golf matches.
L) We MAY publish your name, club and phone number on our web site in the form of a match sheet/team list so that you know you have been selected and other players may contact you to share transport etc.
